General Servicing.

We carry out servicing on all Feltham, Newport Pagnell and Bloxham Aston Martins to original AM service schedules which we have upgraded to allow for the age of car and known problems. This is both total and annual mileage related, and based on over thirty years experience.

 The service will be carried out to a fixed price and specification. All types of lubrication services are menu priced from DB2 through to DB7.

 

   

Specialist Services.                                                                                                                        

 

 We often get asked to carry out work that is out of the ordinary and that involves a bit of head scratching. but one of the better things that come from this is that we are constantly gaining experience. 

 

For example we were asked to provide more drivers legroom in a DB2. After confirming that it was not possible to simply provide more rearwards seat adjustment,we just relocated the pedal box. Now this can be carried on any model DB2/4 with relative ease.

We can also offer the following;

Seat Belt Fitting on DB2's, DB2/4's, DB4's 5's & 6's only:

At first glance fitting seat belts, front & rear, to Aston Martin's is relatively easy, but on the 50 - 59 models the floor pans are aluminium and on DB4 & DB5s there isn't anywhere to attach the rear belt upper anchorages as the parcel shelf is only made from wood. 

Take advantage of our many years of fitting set belts properly with specially made brackets and either traditional seat belts  made for us or modern buckles. Inertia or static type belts supplied and fitted.

Improvements to steering system:

We have supplied two of GTC Engineering's electronic power assisted (EPAC) steering column systems for Feltham cars and the results are very impressive.  With a 5 position adjustable switch, assistance can be varied or indeed turned off completely to personal taste.

We have also had one of GTC's standard steering box overhauls (this has been developed to compliment the power steering kit) and it is superb with no play & very light & direct steering. 

For some years, we have been fitting kingpin roller thrust bearings on Feltham's to make the steering lighter, This is an extremely cost effective way of improving steering weight.

Engine & Cylinder Head:

Being one of the leading Feltham engine rebuilders we have now back engineered and corrected most of the (incorrect from new & in the W/S manual) tolerances in the Aston Martin Feltham engine range & also some of the Newport Pagnell engine range of six & eight cylinder engines. 

 From the fitting of electronic ignition kits, unleaded head conversions, to full engine rebuilds, all to the very highest standards, we can fulfill your requirements. Built to standard, road modified, or race specification, engines are all finished to a very high standard  up to full concours specification. 

All engines and heads are initially estimated from our extensive database of parts and labour costs,  to give the customer some idea of cost. This is then updated and reported back to the customer when the engine or head is stripped and all components have been examined.

The heads or engines are built with precision & care, components painted wherever necessary.

All measurable dimensions & component details are noted in our head or engine build sheets, along with details of any modifications to components. Most engines are Dyno run-in & power tested, the engines are then checked over & either installed in the car (preferred)  or handed over along with a full copy of  Build & Data Sheets, Photographic Record and of course, the Dyno Test Sheets.

Concours Preparation:

 Last year our Concours season started with an excellent result from the workshop. A DBMK111 received an under-bonnet repaint and detailing, including cleaning, painting & detailing the engine and went on to net a 2nd place in the Feltham class at the Beaulieu Concours with a maximum point score on the under-bonnet.

The car has since been back to us for further work to the under-body, and new boot floors, and this year gained a first place with 93.5 points.

In 2006 a V8 came 1st in the Pride of ownership class at engine rebuild (in 04) and an unleaded head for a DB6 (in 05) . 1st and 4th respectively.

Axle Reconditioning:

 Apart from standard reconditioning and overhauling we make parts that are otherwise not available, even down to specially made 1 off Limited Slip Differentials  for very early DB2's. (easily copes with 240hp now - new build 3 HA axles only)

Various axle internals are now available for DB2 & DB2/4 axles fitted with the 3 HA (Small) axle.

 

All reconditioned axles are supplied with a detailed build log sheet. 


Carburettor Servicing:


Everything from cleaning & basic servicing then in vehicle tuning, to a fine detail ultrasonic clean & complete rebuild of your Carburettors to concours standard.

Gearbox Rebuilding and Servicing:

We mainly carry out gearbox rebuilding and servicing on Feltham gearboxes, with the correct meshing & setting up of main shaft & layshaft's, for some years we have also been working on reducing or stopping the oil leaks - we have got several gearboxes out there that have hardly any oil leaks.    see Transmission Parts pages

 

Our parts dept will be able to supply new 1st gears & layshafts (June 2010); bearings; synchro rings & springs; seals; etc for the Feltham cars.

All gearboxes we re-build are supplied with a comprehensive build sheet.

 

Suspension Reconditioning and Upgrade:

  We offer two ways of improving your cars suspension, reconditioning of existing components, or replacement using sympathetically chosen upgrades.

 

Older vehicles suspension deteriorates slowly over many years, and a rebuild with new bushes, springs and dampers can make an enormous difference to the way it drives and consequently owner enjoyment.

 

Lever arm type dampers can be reconditioned, or new telescopic type dampers fitted.

 

We supply and fit Harvey Bailey handling kits, the original HBE types & the Eibach types offered by AML.


For Feltham cars we also make trailing arm chassis brackets and arms  that compliment other suppliers parts.

Electrical:

We can offer a comprehensive electrical service from fault finding to complete vehicle re-wires.    

Many cars are now 50 years old plus, and the wiring on many of the cars we see is increasingly fragile. (Have a look under your dash!). We have now re-wired several cars complete, and have been able to show owners their lucky escapes with regard to missing insulation and crumbling connectors.

New wiring looms can be supplied in either cloth covered or pvc cable and also cloth or pvc wrapping. Bespoke looms can be made for those owners whose cars have subtle modern additions.

Charging system upgrades, and alternator conversions, supplementary lights etc, fitted and wired.

Radio & Stereo conversions & upgrades, modern head units can be fitted behind existing speaker grills in the centre console, etc.

Brakes:

 

Disc brake conversions for Pre DBMk111, Fly-off handbrake conversions for any other Feltham than a Mk11. Uprated brake pads for most Astons from DB Mk111 on.

 Aeroquip stainless steel braided hoses can be supplied and fitted. These are made on premises as there are so many different lengths for DB2 to Mk111, DB4 to DB6, DBS to AM Vantage, Early DBS V8 to AM V8. Impossible to stock them all!.
